PRODUCT CHANGELOG / DEVELOPMENT RELEASE

VOID Audio 0.3.0-dev.1

Published 18 September 2026

Development release. The notes below record changes at this version; consult current help for today’s availability and limitations.

Added

VOID Trim, three-band VOID EQ, linked VOID Dynamics, mid/side VOID Width, development VOID Clip and lookahead sample-peak VOID Limit.

Shared streaming DSP kernels for AudioWorklet live preview and source-rate offline rendering.

Per-module parameter/bypass controls, neutral chain reset, 10 ms parameter/bypass smoothing and delay-aligned live Original/Processed crossfades.

Versioned graph state validation/serialization and variable-length ordered processor lists.

Live sample peak/gain-reduction readouts and processed render peak/RMS analysis.

Deterministic DSP tests and real Chrome AudioWorklet/offline comparison at all four target sample rates.

Installable plugin packaging script.

Changed

Export applies an immutable snapshot of the current chain regardless of the audition mode.

Offline rendering flushes and removes limiter latency while retaining the exact source frame count.

Parameter changes invalidate stale rendered audio; loading a file restores neutral settings.

Realtime preview uses AudioWorklet when available; original playback and offline export retain a fallback path.

Versioned DSP asset is loaded only as a dependency of the shortcode app. Worklet loads on preview demand.

Fixed

Pending rendered playback cannot start with stale settings after a parameter change.

Render controls cannot mutate an in-progress export. Reset/replacement cancels it.

Width rejects ambiguous non-unity processing of multichannel sources.

Security

No external DSP dependencies, uploads, endpoints, server DSP or arbitrary module loading.

Parameter ranges, schema/module versions and finite signal boundaries are validated.

Invalid realtime DSP output silences the processor and reports an actionable error.

Known issues

Clip is not oversampled; Limit is a development sample-peak limiter, not a true-peak limiter. Aliasing, inter-sample peaks and audible limiter attenuation remain possible.

A/B has a short crossfade and matched latency, but no automatic loudness compensation.

Live device-rate preview can differ from source-rate offline output; parameter automation is not recorded into exports.

Filter tails beyond the source duration are not appended; graph reordering UI, preset persistence and module packaging are deferred.

LUFS, true peak and dither remain unimplemented. Live WordPress/cPanel, Firefox/Safari and listening/performance acceptance checks remain outstanding.
