Before you start: open the current VOID studio in a modern browser. These instructions describe the development release and use locally generated demonstration audio in screenshots.

Width is a balance decision
A wider image is not automatically a stronger master. Listen for a stable vocal, bass and kick, as well as the spaciousness of supporting elements. Width processing works on the combined mix, so it cannot independently reposition its instruments.
01 / Start at neutral
Open Advanced and locate Width. An amount of 1 leaves width unchanged. Make a small move from that point and compare against bypass. Non-neutral width processing is intended for mono/stereo material; multichannel workflows have additional limitations.
02 / Check several passages
Listen through headphones and, when possible, speakers. Pay attention to sections with hard-panned elements and sections built around the center. Inspect the stereo visualizer as supporting information, not a replacement for listening.
03 / Check translation
If mono compatibility matters to your delivery, audition a mono fold-down in an appropriate playback or editing tool. VOID's width control does not promise universal compatibility on every playback system.
If the result loses weight or becomes less focused, reduce the amount or return to neutral. Save a version before experimenting and re-render after the final width change.
